This video shows scallop fishing, with a dredge, on board of a small fishing boat off Saint-Quay-Portrieux, the scallop capital city in Brittany (France). Scallop fishing is heavily regulated. Fishermen are entitled to fish no more than 45 minutes twice a week. Exceeding the alloted time, even a minute, is heavily punished: fishing prohibition and court. Helicopters fly over the area to enforce the law.
